This past weekend I went to my 10 year highschool reunion. I had a good time seeing all the people I have lost touch with. Some people changed; most didn't. However, I noticed most the pictures I took were of the people I still keep in touch with. Funny isn't it? I got all "dolled-up" to hang out with the people that see me in my sweatpants all the time. I even bought some cute new shoes to wear. I needed a new pair anyway, so I figured, "What the hell?" Well, these new shoes gave me a tiny piece of what hell must feel like. If you're a woman, you already know that cute and comfortable don't always go hand-in-hand. Don't get me wrong, these shoes would be fine under normal circumstances, but there were like 5 chairs at the whole reunion for about 75 people. I was on my feet for 3 hours straight! My dogs would have been barking if I was in my running shoes. Well I wasn't in them, I was in 3" stillettos! Since I spent about 95% of my summer in flip-flops and the other 5% in running shoes, my feet weren't used to such torture. I think it was a sign to try not to impress people so much. Normally, I could care less, but who doesn't want to look good for their highschool reunions? Why is that? We are all basically saying, "Look how fabulous my life is?" It's funny when you think about it. To my next reunion I think I'm going to wear my running shoes--yeah right :)
